Gabriel Medical Center was founded in 2005 by Dr. Shura Moreno with the goal of providing accessible, quality medical care to the Latino community in Los Angeles. Named in honor of his son Gabriel, the clinic represents a deep commitment to honesty, closeness, and compassionate service.
In 2012, Dr. Moreno dedicated himself fully to GMC, creating a space where every patient receives care with respect and without barriers. Since then, the clinic has grown into a trusted center that combines general medicine, specialized services, and excellent care.
An Internist with more than 22 years of experience, Dr. Shura Moreno founded Gabriel Medical Center with the purpose of providing close and reliable medical care to the Latino community in Los Angeles. As a Salvadoran immigrant, he understands his patients' challenges and walks alongside them with empathy every step of the way, especially during immigration processes. His motto, 'God first, then science,' reflects his faith, resilience, and commitment to the well-being of those he serves.
After graduating from the University of California, Irvine, Dr. Moreno completed his residency at Harbor-UCLA/St. Mary’s Medical Center, specializing in internal medicine. In 2012, he founded Gabriel Medical Center, named in honor of his son, with the purpose of providing close, accessible, and honest medical care to the Latino community in Los Angeles. Additionally, he is certified to perform immigration medical exams, a key service he offers with personalized attention and deep understanding for those going through immigration processes.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Moreno continued serving on the front lines until facing complications that led to a lung transplant. Thanks to his unwavering faith and the support of his family, he overcame this difficult chapter and returned to practicing medicine with even greater strength and purpose. His motto, 'God first, then science,' encapsulates his philosophy of life. In his free time, he enjoys music, plays Latino percussion, and finds peace in devotional reading. He shares his life with his wife Tatiana and his son Gabriel, who are his greatest inspiration.
On April 24, 2025, the Dr. Shura Moreno was honored with theProfessional with Attitude Award Winner, an accolade that highlights leaders who inspire through their example and vocation for service. This award represents Dr. Moreno's unwavering commitment to the Latino community in Los Angeles, not only as a physician, but as a friend and guide during difficult times. His story of personal triumph, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and his dedication to providing close, reliable medical care make him a true role model of empathy, resilience, and humanity.
